WALKING IN OREGON

During my trips out west I have been on a number of hikes and fields trips during the months of May and July and this talk shows the range of plants that can be found in Oregon during these months. The areas visited include Crater Lake, where superb examples of Pulsatilla occidentalis grow,

the Siskiyous to see Fritillaria pudica, Erythronium klamathense, Trillium ovatum and other gems.

and we visit the Cascades for a hike on Bohemia Mountain and the Siskyous for a hike along the Illinois River trail.

The moist woodlands of Oregon are full of unusual fungi
Also included is a look at the wonderful Sebring Rock Garden at Alton Baker Park in Eugene. This garden covers 6000 square feet and was built as a collaboration between the NARGS Emerald Chapter and the City. Plants that grow there were grown by the local chapter and also donated by various nurseries.
