Hosta 'June'
on the right holds its colour much better if grown in the shade.
But for a complete change
of colour go for the perennial poppies. They can grow quite tall
but what wonderful heads.
Late tulips like Tulipa sprengeri
pictured below make a lovely show in the shade of Cornus contraversa.
Whilst Clematis 'Fireworks' pictured below lights up the
shade.
and Geranium pratense 'Midnight Reiter' has a wonderful
deep purple leaf colour.
